Marc
I am Marcus, co-founder and outreach support at Solomon’s Porch. With Christ being my first focus, I also lead our wonderful home as Relle’s husband and father to our four beautiful children. Originally from East Nashville, I was given a blessing of community outreach through Magness Porter Community Center. There is where I learned the importance of people coming together for the purpose of doing God’s work. It is also where I first remember hearing the good news of Jesus Christ. As spoken in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His One and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
At an early age I discovered the great power of prayer, as I turned to God to help aid my mother through her years of sickness and ailments. I would pray night and day for God to grant my mother more life and healing. From God’s grace and mercy, the Father answered my prayers and gave my mother 30+ years of life past her original terminal diagnosis. Not all days in her sickness have been enjoyable, but yet she has endured through her pain, and given so much more to our lives. I have no doubt in my mind this is thanks to the All-Mighty creator, Yahweh. His mighty power has shown in my life this way and I am so thankful. It’s His presence which has guided me to God-fearing and influential people who have helped steer me in the right direction in life. Thank You, God!
Presently, I am a licensed Master Barber for over 17 years for the state of Tennessee. In addition to servicing the clients with their haircut needs, I find joy in fellowshipping every moment in my barbershop. Most who know me, will find me quoting from Matthew’s Gospel. Some of my favorite stories to share include Matthew 25:14-30 (The Parable of The Talents); Mathew 21:23-31 (The question of Jesus’ Authority); Matthew 21:28-32 (The Parable of The Two Sons); Mathew 8:5-13 (The Faith of The Centurion); and lastly Matthew 22:34-40 (The Great Commandment).
